Resources & Support

You Are Not Alone

Whether you are newly facing limb loss, adjusting to life with a prosthesis, supporting a loved one, or simply trying to figure out what comes next — Together in Motion is here to help.

This page was built by people who understand the realities of limb loss firsthand. Not everything about this journey is inspiring or easy, and that is okay. Our goal is to provide real support, practical tools, local resources, and meaningful community connections throughout the Red River Valley and beyond.

What You May Be Feeling Is Normal

After limb loss, many people experience:

  • Grief

  • Fear

  • Anger

  • Anxiety

  • Exhaustion

  • Frustration

  • Identity Changes

  • Uncertainty About the Future

There is no “correct” way to adapt. Healing is not linear, and recovery is not only physical.

Things We Wish Someone Told Us Earlier

  • Your first prosthesis likely will not be your forever prosthesis

  • Socket discomfort is common and deserves attention.

  • You are allowed to ask questions repeatedly.

  • Phantom pain and phantom sensations are real.

  • Progress may come in small steps.

  • Rest is part of healing.

  • Asking for help is not weakness.
